The Tax-Hiker-In-Chief Of New York

Motorists, health insurance customers and small businesses in New York have dozens of new fees to look forward to in 2008-2009 if Gov. Eliot Spitzer wins approval of his new budget.

They also would see their property tax rebates curtailed — a double whammy aimed at taxpayers — and state spending would increase 5.1 percent.

Spitzer sees all of that as “a good news budget.” What a warped sense of taxpaying reality he has.
