Our refrigerator/freezer is dying and won’t get cold enough to make ice now. That means we’re making occasional trips to the store for bags of ice until we buy a new fridge. Today’s bag of ice cost $1.50 — plus 4 cents to the government in taxes, of course.
I guess we should be thankful that the food tax applies to ice rather than the non-food tax. Otherwise, we’d have had to pay the state government another 4 cents.
